Our Last Day without Rinat

Hey all- This will be a short one since we have nothing really to report and also my goober husband needs the internet for his fantasy football league in 10 minutes. So today we did nothing. Literally. Peter read an entire book and I spent a long time looking at baby clothes online. I figure it's the last time we will be legally barred from spending time with our little one so we better get in all the rest and relaxation that we can. Also, I am tired of looking at souvenirs and baby clothes and we don't need anything from the grocery store so our choices were limited. But we did get together with all of the other families who are here with the exception of one who was under the weather. Our friend from Cleveland made beans & rice, Peter and I brought apps, someone else brought wine, salads, dessert. And we just hung out for a few hours. It was nice to have something to look forward to on the day that we don't get to see our sweet baby. Anyway, that was our day in a nutshell. Hope yours was good! -m

Sounds both restful and stressful, with Tuesday/Wednesday always looming. Rinat sure is a cutie--it was love at first sight for all involved!

Gosh i can not believe this is almost over. Soon you 3 will be heading home and life with the 3 of you all will begin. Their will be countless trips to Starbucks, turtle park, target etc.... and they will all be done with someone, Rinat. The first time you look back in the car and see him in his carseat it will all sink in.. at least it did with me. And that day is almost here. Relish it and rememeber it, b/c the moment passes so quickly. hugs and kisses

Well I for one am just wanting tues/wed to get here as quickly as possible. Hopefully we'll be back in our house by then. Until then we are enjoyin livin' Leggettstyle here on Yuma. Caroline pretty much signs "bus" now whenever she hears a noise on your street! I have been telling all your neighbors with kids to get ready to welcome Rinat home!

One question....what are we blog addicts supposed to do when the postings are over????????????? Ugggggh....the thought of it is just depressing! ;) Thank you so much for all of the pics! How exciting to hear from you guys while on my visit to Annie! She was so excited and it was too funny because we were just in the middle of assessing which pictures would be blown up and framed...and shockingly it was just about all of them! That's how cute that boy is...and his mom and dad too I suppose! ;)

Your dad's comment about holding on to your hats made me laugh remembering a Sunday morning while we were trying to get everyone ready for church. You, Peter, were tormenting Ann as usual; your dad had Kate in a scissors lock trying to stuff her into tights as she screeched; Matt was analyzing the situation. Your dad said "You know, I wouldn't trade any of these wonderful children back in for anything, but maybe we should have stopped at two!" Say good-bye to your independence...you are about to become full time, willing slaves for the rest of your lives to your darling son! Welcome to parentood and all the joys, worries, and heartbreaks that goes with it! It's a great club to belng to!

I like Geri's story! She's right. You just can't know how much love you could have for a little piece of humanity that you didn't even know a few weeks ago. Being up with a child all night with a fever or your long plane trip home will just make the bond stronger. We are counting the hours here in DC.

That's right, Mom and Dad ... You should have learned long ago that Kate does not like girly-girl things like tights.

I hope little Rinat terrorizes you,Peter, to get back for all those years of locking me in the dog's crate and threatening to call the police to take me away!

Oh, sweet redemption!
Love,
Aunt Kate

Geri,
The question is......was I able to get the sweet little wonderful innocent darling(everybody loved her)in the tights?
All of that spandex probably did me in!
I do remember she could put up a real fight!!!
Pete
P.S. I always thought it was a puppy in the dog carrier, not my sweet Katherine Ruth :)
