Dec 2012

Hi All,
Our December started off with a fabulous trip to NYC with friends.  We drove into town via Times Square after the sun went down to Rin and Aibek’s delight.  “It’s like a festival Mama!  It really is!” is what I heard from the back seat.  These boys are definitely made for the city.  The following night we saw Spider-Man on Broadway and it was so much fun.  We went to the 8pm show and I was a little worried about how Bek would do but he was entranced the entire 2&1/2 hours. And Rinat had a smile on his face and was transfixed by the story and the singing and the people flying around.  The weekend was rainy and cold which I sort of love at Christmas time.  Makes it feel legit.  So did the carriage ride through the park.

I love that we live in DC.  We get to do things like go on school field trips to visit the White House while it’s all dressed up for Christmas.  It was amazing.

While still living in the apartment, we did the best we could to make it festive.  We couldn’t fit a tree which was sad but we did put up decorations, make a gingerbread house, make pictures to hang, and of course Elf was in residence to make the holiday complete.

And since we were unable to really do it up right in the apartment, we headed to LBurg a bit early where we knew we would be overwhelmed with Christmas decorations.  The boys went to visit Santa at the mall which went a lot better this time.  Bek sat nicely on his lap and snuggled with him while Rin read the list to him.  The long list.  And afterward, the boys spied a bungee jump thing and insisted on taking a turn.  It’s funny that Rin used to be so fearless about everything and now he’s the one who is the cautious one.  I guess he’s gotten smarter with age.

The boys enjoyed at the Christmas prep with GigiMar and Auntie Ann including making cookies for Santa.  Who doesn’t love cookies with fifty pounds of sprinkles?

More in the next post since I only get 20 photos per post…

Much love, -m
